News Releases and Public Information

Welcome to the Polk County Sheriff's Office News Room, where the Public Information Officers (PIO's) post all of the information that they release to the news media. PIO's act as liaisons between news media organizations and the Sheriff's Office. The PIO's routinely release timely and accurate information and Crime Stoppers bulletins, and respond to routine and "breaking news" media inquiries. News releases and Crime Stoppers information can be found on this page.

PCSO's full-time Public Information Officers are Brian Bruchey, Carrie Horstman, and Alicia Manautou. The Public Information Officers can be reached by sending an e-mail collectively at PIOs@polksheriff.org

PCSO Annual Judd Jog 5K For Charity This Saturday

On your mark - get set - GO! This year's annual Judd Jog 5K benefitting Polk Sheriff's Charities, Inc., is scheduled for Saturday, April 28, 2018. 

 

Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. at the PCSO Sheriff's Operations Center, 1891 Jim Keene Blvd in Winter Haven. The cost to participate is $30.00, and all proceeds to go Polk Sheriff's Charities, Inc. Families and children are welcome, and everyone will receive a medal. Winners in different categories will also be awarded.

The course will wind through the area from the Sheriff's Operations Center, around the lake, up to Winter Lake Road, and back. The race will start at 8:00 a.m. -and those who wish to walk are also welcome!

PCSO will have activities as well - from K-9 demonstrations to meet-and-greets with our specialty units. And of course, Sheriff Judd will be there.

The media is encouraged to attend! Photos and video opportunities will be made available. We hope to see you there!
