Poinciana man arrested for domestic violence and punching our K-9

Media Contact: Brian Bruchey, PIO

This story was posted on thePCSO Facebook page, in reference to the arrest of a Poinciana man who pushed his girlfriend, and punched a deputy and K-9.

Today may or may not be the last day of May. If you’re reading it today, then it most definitely is the last day in May, but if you’re reading this tomorrow, at which point it will be today, then yesterday was the last day in May.

Well, we may have arrested a guy in Poinciana yesterday, on the penultimate day of May. His name is Matthew Cabrera.

Matthew got into an argument with his live-in girlfriend, and began pushing her. What ever happened to just slamming doors, and yelling, “FINE?”

Deputy Quintana arrived on scene and tried to speak to Matthew, but Matthew wasn’t in a talking mood, and he ran away. Who runs from Deputy Quintana? He’s like a furless teddy bear with a big smile.

Matthew ran, and ran, and ran some more. Meanwhile, K-9 Deputy Dudley and his partner Axe were following Matthew’s scent (the scent is called Eau da Bad Guy). It was a lengthy track which oddly enough led right back to Matthew’s house. Apparently Matthew has no friends where he could have ran to, so he just ran in a big circle.

Deputy Dudley and K-9 Axe went into Casa de Matt, and Matthew was not a very good host. He actually started punching Dudley and Axe, which is totally not advisable. Sara McLachlan may have a thing or two to say about it as well.

Matthew was arrested and charged with the following: Battery (Domestic Violence), Battery on Law Enforcement, Battery on a Police Dog, Resisting, and Violation of Probation (Possession of Ganja).

Matthew’s girlfriend was not injured. Axe was not injured. Deputy Dudley had a swollen hand, but he’s a big-boy, so he’s fine.
Matthew may get out of jail before the end of May. Or he may not.
